Founder and executive chairman, Tom Chapman alongside his wife Ruth, has led the digital transformation of MATCHESFASHION.COM from an acclaimed London bricks-and-mortar business to a fully integrated global commerce business, delivering 95% of revenue online. 2016 saw their move into The Shard – connecting over 300 of 500 employees.
In 1987 he opened the Wimbledon Matches store; the first multi brand retailer to introduce designers including Prada, and Bottega Veneta in the UK. Matches became renowned as one of the most innovative luxury boutiques in the world with the unique reputation for being the first to spot emerging talent and creating innovative exclusive collaborations with their designers. In response to this global customer demand the online site launched in 2007 and in 2013 all platforms rebranded as MATCHESFASHION.COM to provide a universal customer experience.
Tom remains passionate about the seamless connection of all physical and digital customer interaction, driving the 360 degree technology approach across the business – which he believes is the true future of modern luxury commerce.
