Blake Abbie is a Chinese/Scottish-Canadian editor, writer, and actor. He serves as editor in chief of A Magazine curated by, a cultural publication collaborating with designers like Glenn Martens, Simone Rocha, Peter Do, Grace Wales Bonner, Chitose Abe, and Cecilie Bahnsen. His work explores the intersection of culture, blending academic, anthropological, and pop culture perspectives to examine evolving value systems. He is passionate about the power of media to shape thought and document history. Initially trained as a classical singer in Paris, Abbie later became the founding managing editor of System magazine in London. He has appeared as Thomas in Netflix’s Meteor Garden and as a main cast member in Bling Empire: New York. He has commissioned music videos for Skepta, Sky Ferreira and Blood Orange. Through his studio, Tong, he promotes cultural fluency between Greater China and the world and is also developing his debut TV series.
